Roundtable

KOICA Roundtable

  • Theme : The Challenges of Global Aging & International Development Cooperation in the Era of Digital Transformation

  • Background:

  • The theme of the 13th World Conference is “Gerontechnology in the Era of Artificial Intelligence.” The innovation brought by digital technology and artificial intelligence is changing our daily lives and providing new opportunities. However, closing the digital divide is an urgent issue, and in 2021, the United Nations selected “Digital Equity for All” as the theme for the International Day of the Older Persons.
More than 70% of the world's older population live in developing countries. By identifying the situation of poverty and inequality rising in the international community, the purpose the roundtable is to explore and discuss the new agenda for international development cooperation from an aging perspective.
In particular, ways to bridge the digital divide among older people and to link ODA to solve the aging issues in the era of digital transformation will be discussed.
